I grew up watching my grandfather make “things” in acrylic in his basement woodshed. The most exciting times were the days I would spend making holes acrylic with his drill press and personalizing items with his engraving machine. As I grew older, I couldn’t exactly put my finger on it, but I knew I needed to make “things”.

As Picasso once said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” My art brings me back to childhood. Nothing is planned or preconceived, I just go with how I feel and remind myself something I am often telling my students: there are no mistakes in art. I hope to continue to inspire and educate others through art.
